Publisher: Rye Field Publications Published Date: 2011/06 【Synopsis】 In an early summer, the 90 year-old veteran Chang-Ji was delivered to the hospital because of a tumble, then, unexpectedly, his bleeding from the stomach caused pneumonia. The doctor didn’t notice the sign of the disease and let him leave the hospital delightfully. However, when Chang-Ji went to the emergency room again, the disease has gone extremely bad. One incident came after another. After checking, Chang-Ji found himself in the last stage of pancreas cancer, accompanied with liver cirrhosis. Chang-Jin has a nickname Wan-Pa, because he has a son named Wan Kang. Though having a strong will to survive, this time Wan-Pa confronted a real danger. The young Wan Kang anxiously went to Baoan Temple to pray for an oracle from Baosheng Dadi, a divine emperor who protects life. Under the signboard written ‘ Dao Ji Qun Sheng’ ( Dao rescue all beings) unexpectedly cause a fighting contest. In the beginning, the Judge of the Hell wholeheartedly wanted to get back Wan-Pa to close the case, and discontented that Wan Kang prolongs his father’s lifespan, put a ‘public trail of the century’ on the stage, force the father and son collaborated on resisting the illness army. The first battle ended in a draw. And after the first battle, Wan Kang's old schoolmates visited the intensive care unit several times to cheer up the father and son. Once, they fought with the doctors and security guards, in addition, the Judge came and seduced the doctors and nurses doctor…all of this made the ward in chaos. What is the mess all about? It’s better to ask the questions first--why a single tumble made Wan-Pa in the intensive care unit, and pitifully intubated? Why the doctors and nurses neglected the treatment at first place? Maybe it’s because the doctors feared that the longer the patients stay, the more the hospital might cost, which is involved with the huge loophole of the health insurance system. Then, Baosheng Dadi and Lu DongBin (one of the immortals in Daoism) showed the oracle to Wan Kang, directed him to write A Book of Dove That is Dao down. Meanwhile, Jesus also showed up lively and gave a weird suggestion. Wan Kang realized that his father ultimately must face the music of death, only hoped that the hospital can reduce the pain. However, this time, Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru) was unmoved. The Medicine Buddha invited Amitābha Buddha, Bodhisattva Guanyin.
